A difficult question

So I was a guest on a radio talk show in Jamaica tonight....they wanted to talk about health reform. I was prepped to describe the structure of Congress, how it could be hard to pass a bill even if one party controls the Presidency, the House and the Senate. The different approaches, CBO scoring, the gang of six, public option etc etc etc. But, the interviewer started with this question:

Ths USA tells the rest of the world that it is a Christian nation. You are also the richest and most powerful nation in the world. How is it that you haven't found a way to provide health insurance to all persons?

I don't remember what I said.....I have no good answer.
